In 1949, with $2 in deposits, 7 members of the scientific community came together to create an organization dedicated to empowering people to achieve a brighter financial future.
Today, NASA Federal Credit Union serves over 200,000 Members across the United States but our commitment remains unchanged. We strive every day to tirelessly improve the financial lives of our Members and the communities we serve.

Charitable Giving & Employee Volunteerism
In 2023, NASA Federal Credit Union gave $106,000 in philanthropic donations to college scholarships, Children's Hospitals, and local food banks.
Environmental Stewardship
NASA Federal Credit Union invests in LED lighting and improved HVAC efficiencies, which results in an annual 276 ton reduction in our carbon footprint.
Employee Knowledge
NASA Federal Credit Union invested more than 11,554 hours of financial and leadership training for employees.
Economic Opportunity
In 2023, NASA Federal provided $1.25 million in liquidity assistance for smaller and Latino credit unions to serve lower-to-moderate income communities.
Member Savings
In 2023, NASA Federal Credit Union saved Members more than $75 Million1 through lower interest rates on loans, higher deposit rates, fewer fees, and improved services.
Responsible Home Ownership
In 2023, NASA Federal Credit Union was responsible for more than $505 million in innovative mortgage products designed for homebuyers with little or no down payment, including first-time homebuyers, conforming and jumbo first mortgages, fixed rate seconds and home equity lines of credit.
